Practice StaffPractice ManagerMr Stephen Antill Dip. IHSM DipPM Practice Nurses
Our practice nurses see patients by appointment only. They are involved in all the health promotion clinics as well as dressings, vaccinations, ear syringing, undertaking cardiograms and cervical smears. They can offer advice on numerous health topics. They also assist in all the clinics that are run and are competent at carrying out general health checks. Health Care AssistantsJane Rothwell Our HCAs see patients for routine blood tests, blood pressures and health screening and run clinics by appointment only. Jane also offers smoking cessation advice to any patient wishing to give up smoking in our 'Quitters' sessions. She works on a one-to one basis within our surgery hours. Please contact the surgery if you would like to make an appointment to see her. ReceptionistsThe practice has a team of receptionists who will be happy to assist you with making appointments, repeat prescriptions and general enquiries. Health VisitorsThe surgery has two health visitors who are trained to provide preventative child health care services to children from birth to five years old. They run baby clinics in conjunction with the doctors and can be contacted by leaving a message with reception. Community NursesThe District Nursing Service treats patients over the age of 16 who are housebound or who have a medical requirement to receive treatment at home. Our aim is to enhance independence and rehabilitation by supporting patients and carers in their own homes. You are welcome to contact the District Nursing team through the surgery and leave a message with reception by telephoning
Weekends and Bank Holiday Emergency NumberYou will need to contact the Out of Hours Service and make a request for a nurse to visit. MidwivesA team of midwives assist the practice and care for all stages of pregnancy in our antenatal clinics. They can be contacted by leaving a message with reception. TrainingWe are a training practice which means that fully qualified doctors (GP Registrars) who have completed their hospital training spend up to 12 months working here at the surgery to develop their skills in general practice, before embarking on a career as a GP or returning to hospital work. We may offer you an appointment with our GP registrar. Occasionally we may have medical students observing consultations with the doctor. You will be asked if you agree to the medical student attending your consultation and you have the right to refuse this request. |
